How To Choose An Affiliate Program By Vlad Z

If you are looking to join an affiliate program, you may benefit from the following steps that can help you to determine whether or not a particular affiliate program is suitable for you.

Things to consider before joining affiliate program.

1. If you were the customer, would you buy products or services that you about to advertise as an affiliate? This may sound like a hypothetical question but in my opinion this is very important question and the answer to it determines your interest in the products/services. If you can step into the shoes of customer looking for particular product/service, you will be able to understand better to what extend the customer will go to determine the “true” value of the product and the best way to purchase it.

2. Look what kind of links your advertiser offers you to help you to promote their products. Sometimes you will be able to create links that will link only to home page of advertisers website. It is always better to find advertisers that will offer so called “deep linking”, allowing you to create affiliate links to particular products and services instead just to a home page.

3. Consider the conversion rate. Many companies have affiliate managers who oversee the affiliate programs. Thy will be happy to provide you with statistical data of how well their websites tend to convert visitors into customers. This information is of particular importance to you if you will be employing pay per click advertising to promote your website.

4. Payment schedule. Some advertisers will not send payments unless minimum threshold is reached. Amazon, for example, will not issue payments unless an affiliate earned $25 in one quarter. Also some companies, like Amazon, will pay their affiliates only once a quarter.

The above steps are important but if you use them, let them be as starting points in examining particular affiliate program. After you have joined an affiliate program there is one more step I would recommend to take, if possible: make a test purchase. Choose the cheapest product or service and make a purchase. This will accomplish tow things atone time. If, after you purchased a product, you see in your reporting that commission appeared in your account, your affiliate links are working properly and your advertisers reporting is not compromised.

Affiliate marketing is challenging but yet it is very rewarding at the same time.

AdSense Profit From Google AdWords By Casey Yew

Advertisements collected through Google AdWords system are shown on AdSense websites. When an AdSense publisher starts to buy traffic through Google AdWords for his AdSense site, he becomes an AdSense arbitrager. AdSense arbitrage is one of the AdSense business strategies that publishers could implement to make AdSense profit.

Is AdSense arbitrage a fraud to Google? No, Google allows AdSense arbitrage. As a matter of fact, the more AdSense arbitrage, the more Google could make from AdWords.

The success of AdSense arbitrage depends on the amount spend on traffic and the profits AdSense arbitrager gets from AdSense so long the cost of buying traffic does not exceed the earnings from the AdSense.

AdSense arbitragers need to make good profit from AdSense to cover the cost. One way to boost AdSense profit is by creating contents with high paying keywords. These contents normally get ads that pay higher. Therefore, high paying keywords are necessary for a successful AdSense arbitrage.

Keyword research tools such as Digitalpoint Keyword Suggestion Tool are used to locate the most searched keywords. With these keywords, AdSense arbitragers can obtain a list of high paying keywords using Google AdWords. By maximizing bid for each keyword, arbitragers can obtain the estimated highest cost per click (CPC) for each keyword.

However, the estimated highest CPC of each keyword obtained from AdWords does not reflect the real competition for that keyword. The highest bid price could be raised by one advertiser whereas majority advertisers are bidding for the same keyword at lower price. Besides, the estimated highest CPC could not reflect the true CPC of each keyword at regional level. Cost per click in different regions can be different as the competition for the same keyword in each region varies. Nonetheless, based on this list of highest CPC, AdSense arbitragers are able to discover the potential market for arbitrage.

AdSense arbitragers will then build a website targeting a set of chosen high paying keywords. Proper use of meta tags, title text and good quality content would increase the relevancy of ads and hence help the website to get high paying ads.

Low paying keywords from the most searched keywords list are used in the AdWords campaign drive traffic to the new website. AdSense arbitragers can include as many low paying keywords as possible in AdWords campaign and start each keyword with a minimum bid.

Run the AdWords campaign for a week or two to get the average earning per click. Increase the bid price or broaden the low paying keywords list if it can increase your AdSense arbitrage profits. Many other form of paid traffic can be used for AdSense arbitrage. Many smaller pay per click search engines could bring decent traffic collectively for less money.

AdSense arbitrage depends on high click through rate (CTR). Well position and well blended-in ads will induce high click through rate. Quality contents that provide values will attract quality audiences. These targeted audiences are more likely to turn into customers for advertisers. The higher quality audience your website sends to advertiser’s site, the less likely it would be smart priced.

The success of arbitrage can be shattered by unpredictable click through rate and fluctuation of keyword value. The cost spent on AdWords could easily exceed the profit from AdSense. The arbitrage process has to be monitored closely and constantly.

To capitalize the efforts and money spent on paid traffic, other form of monetized techniques such as affiliate marketing or name capturing form should be used to target those not converted AdSense audiences. With these mechanisms in place, efforts and money spent on paid traffic would not be wasted.

"The BLACK HOLE Of Internet Marketing"

You can’t wait to get up in the morning to get on the computer. You devour ezines. You can’t learn enough in a day. When you’re not on the computer, your mind is composing headlines and ad copy; material for articles. Each evening you reluctantly turn off the computer or maybe you’re still happily at it until the wee hours of the morning.

Then one day it happens...you get out of bed and the thought of getting near the computer makes your stomach queasy. You begin thinking maybe you should get that root canal your dentist has been bugging you about for the last six months. Gee, wasn’t my carpet beige at one time,
not gray? Maybe I should clean house; mow the yard; do my 2000 taxes. Anything...anything...but get on the computer.

My friend, you’ve fallen into the "Black Hole" of Internet marketing. It’s a place where you are totally apathetic about online promotion; you just don’t want to have anything to do with it.

The first time it happened to me, I had just returned from a tranquil week in the mountains of Tennessee. I thought I would return to my computer with a huge appetite for marketing. To my surprise and dismay, I just didn’t want to get back on the computer and my routine of spending 10-12 hours a day doing all the things we do.

I came out of that period realizing that I needed to moderate my time on the computer and to do that; I would need to start working smarter, not harder. So the "Black Hole" episode wasn’t a bad thing. I learned from it.

I think anyone who is passionate (obsessive?) about Net marketing goes through this in varying degrees. And everyone deals with it differently. Some are able to "bully" their way through these
episodes. That doesn’t work for me because then marketing becomes something I HAVE to do instead of something I WANT to do.

I have fallen into the "Black Hole" a few more times and have no doubt I will again in the future. This is how I have learned to get through it:

1. I subscribe to 125+ ezines. I receive the majority of them in several different HotMail accounts so I don’t overload my main email account. I will set my HotMail accounts up not to receive and
automatically delete any incoming mail. This prevents bouncebacks and I won’t lose my subscriptions. I know I’m going through a temporary phase and when I get through it, I can open my accounts back up.

2. I go to the library and check out a bunch of books. For me, the more Stephen King and John Grisham, the better. I spend my afternoons with my butt firmly planted on the couch
(one cat on my chest and one on my legs) with a bag of potato chips within easy reach.

3. I give my house what I call a "5-star" cleaning. Now you have to understand I HATE housework. Hated it when I was a kid and woke up every Saturday to my mother yelling, "Jo Ann, time to get up. We have a lot of cleaning to do." Please, just shoot me now! As I get older, my distaste for housework only increases. But it’s one of those things I need to do just so I can shut up that
"nag voice" in my head.

4. And speaking of "nag voices," I take care of all those trivial things that I have been putting off doing. I find this is important because it seems to clear my head. Shutting up the "nag voices"
is like taking out mental garbage.

Basically, I’m telling myself it’s okay to feel the way I’m feeling...apathetic, disinterested, turned-off, tuned-out.

After a while, I start feeling there’s a void in my life. I miss writing; my brain starts to hunger for knowledge again; I’m feeling aimless and bored.

Then I know it’s time to ease back into Internet marketing.

I start by opening up a few of my HotMail accounts. Not all of them because I don’t want to feel overwhelmed. I allow myself one hour a day to read ezines and study ads. After a while, I’ll allow myself one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon to read and study. Gradually, I open all my accounts back up.

Before I know it, I’m getting excited again. Words are flowing; ideas are bumping around in my head.

She’s B-A-C-K!!!

For me, I think the "Black Hole" periods are good. I return to Internet marketing refreshed and energized. I’m grateful once again for the return of passion. No longer stale, I can clearly see flaws
previously overlooked and come up with fresh ideas.

Sometimes we are so deeply involved with our life within the computer; we lose our sense of perspective. We think we are learning, but we’re just reading words. Our brain is overloaded and nothing is sticking. We just do the "same old, same old" and wonder why we’re not getting anywhere.

I think the "Black Hole" is our mind’s way of saying, "Hey, ease up! Ya know, there’s a whole nother world outside of that monitor. I’m going on strike until you give me a break!"

I have come to understand that for me, I live in two worlds; one is CyperSpace and the other is the physical world. I have friends and loved ones in both worlds; I make money in both worlds; I am passionate about both worlds.

I think the key is to try to find the right formula so that the two worlds can co-exist in harmony.

Every time I come out of a "Black Hole," I get a bit closer to finding that formula.

So don’t panic when you fall in the "Black Hole." Just listen to that quiet, still voice inside. It will guide you through it. And when you come out to the other side, I think you’ll be smarter
for the experience. Certainly you’ll appreciate the return of renewed passion and excitement.

"This, indeed, is one of the eternal paradoxes of both life and literature--that without passion little gets done; yet, without control of that passion, its effects are largely ill or null." F.L. Lucas

"9 Great Reasons To Help An Internet Marketing Newbie"
Written By Jeff Schuman ฉ 2004
http://www.Team-Schuman.com

Zig Ziglar, the famous self help guru, was once quoted as
saying "You can get everything you want in life if you help
enough people get everything they want in life."

Nowhere is this more true than on the internet and internet marketing.
I remember when I first started looking into making money
on the internet. What an overwhelming feeling. The internet
is a big....big...big...world.

When you first get you started you are considered a "Newbie."
A newbie is an affectionate term given to someone who is
new to the internet and all of the geek speak that comes
with trying to figure out how to use it.

Do your remember when you first ventured out in the
online business world? You probably had questions
and problems along the way. Wouldn't it have been
easier if you had help? When a newbie asks for your
advice, educate them; answer their questions and help
them solve their online business problems. If you do
not have the knowledge to help them out, point them
in the right direction.

I have found forums as a great way to get information
myself as I need it as well as a great place to help
people who have particular questions.

Another great place to get help and to help others is Joe
Robson's "The Newbie Club." The Newbie Club contains free
computer and internet technical problem solving, plus free
tutorials, free eBooks, free courses, free guestbooks, free
autoresponders, free help and advice, a free newsletter,
free affiliate program and a free membership.
http://www.team-schuman.com/newbie

When you help out a newbie you'll personally
get many benefits as well. Here are 9 great reasons
to help out a "Newbie" make money online today.

1. You will have a great feeling knowing you had
a part in their success.

2. You could end up being business partners
in the future. You could regularly do joint venture
and cross promotion deals with each other.

3. They may join an affiliate program or mlm business
with you and help you build your business. There are many
2 tier affiliate programs and mlm businesses today that
pay you a handsome commission to teach people how
to promote their products online.

4. They could help you develop a new product or service
or help you get an exsisting project off the ground.

5. They may become one of your best friends. Most
people can use new friends, even business owners.
You never know when you will run across someone
online that you enjoy working with and talking to.

6. They may help you out with your business. Maybe
they will give you some testimonials or endorsements
for your products or services.

7. They might offer you some free advertising space
on their web site or in their e-zine for your help. You
could also exchange advertising with them.

8. They may become one of your best customers
today as well as purchase back end products from
you in the future.

9. You could exchange links with them and build
your link popularity, ultimately increasing traffic
to your own website

There are many other benefits you could get
from helping a new online business owner. Always
remember to help them out because it's the nice thing
to do and not just to benefit your own business.

Internet Marketing - What Does List Building Have to Do With Exceptional Internet Marketing? By Sean Mize

Once upon a time, exceptional internet marketing meant traffic and conversion rate. When email marketing was in its infancy, the only people who needed to build lists were the list brokers. Internet marketers could buy leads and names and emails to do their internet marketing.

Now that mailing unsolicited commercial emails is a crime, internet marketers have to build and maintain their own lists.

So what does list building have to do with being an exceptional internet marketer?

To be a well-rounded internet marketer, you have to have the ability to contact prospects repeatedly in a strategic environment. You cannot rely on one-time visitors. Returns can be 10x higher with a list than a one-time hit.

No matter your web site sales conversion ratio, the end-product sales conversion can be higher with a list.

So how does the exceptional internet marketer utilize list building?

The exceptional internet marketer:

1) Chooses to drive traffic to squeeze pages whose main focus is conversion of visitors to subscribers, not buyers.

2) Learns to craft excellent email marketing campaigns that drive subscriber traffic to carefully scripted sales pages designed to convert a higher percentage of subscribers than would normally be converted on a cold-visitor driven sales page.

3) Treasures and protects his email marketing list, realizing that his list has far more value than his sales page, web site, or domain name.

Internet Marketing - What Do You Think of the "Adsense is Dead" Debate?By Sean Mize

Are you here: This is a hard-ranging debate started by click flippers that are licking their chops over Google Adsense slaps.

Or here: Adsense is alive, and for white hat marketers, Adsense revenue is way up, and will continue to climb. Adsense is only dead for black hat marketers who disrespect Google Adsense and the financial opportunity provided by Google.

I think everyone that has been able to keep out of the emotional fray recognizes that the Adsense is Dead campaign was strictly created to sell an over priced course on click flipping.

But what is the truth? Google Adsense revenues seem to be up. But bid prices seem to me to be down. Does this mean that a larger number of sites are now hosting Adsense and therefore the average operator revenue is down while Google profits are up?

Can new Adsense templates (like the one to be released today) make up for the stress of the death of Adsense, or is this just another ploy to put money in the pockets of another long-term marketer?

My personal opinion - Google will find a way to ban the new Adsense templates as soon as they become profitable.

My solution to the internet marketer: Stop relying on Google Adsense for revenue, allow bid prices to drop, and use Google Adwords to drive high-profit traffic to solid, sales driven web sites.

My solution involves driving subscriber traffic to my high profit information sites that convert to big dollars for me-- and I don’t give Google, click flippers or Adsense templates my dollar.

Internet Marketing and the Importance of a Clear Plan for Success By Sean Mize

When you first get started in internet marketing, you are bombarded with sales pitches for everything you need to get started right. So you buy everything you are told to buy, and then realize you have no idea how to use any of it.

So now you buy the information that is supposed to tell you how to put it all together, and what will make all your tools work.

But in reality, you need to do the very opposite. You must start with a plan, and build from there.

Read all you can online about the best way to set up you internet business, then create a step by step plan to implement your ideas.

When you begin to purchase resources, make sure that every resource you buy fits into one of the elements of the plan you devised. If it does not fit in, do not buy it. No matter how wonderful is the product, no matter what it promises to do, if it does not fit into your plan, do not buy it.

You must develop a step by step plan to create long term success online. This plan should start with the basics, like a niche, a web site, and a traffic source. Next, it should incorporate techniques like list building and web site conversion tactics. Finally, your internet marketing plan should incorporate backend products, cross niche products, and up sells.

Internet Marketing Models that Work By David Wells

Model #1 - The list building affiliate model.

This is maybe the simplest yet most powerful internet marketing model you can use. In its most basic form it consists of a squeeze page that captures the name and email address of your prospect and adds it to your autoresponder then redirects them to an affiliate product sales page.

The key in this strategy is to pre-sell the affiliate product on your squeeze page and in your autoresponder messages. Usually a soft sell works better. Once it’s set up you simply drive targeted web site traffic to it and track your conversion rates.

Model #2 – The one time offer model.

This model requires that you have a product or series of products that you have the rights to sell. Internet marketing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Internet Marketing)

Internet marketing is the use of the Internet to advertise and sell goods and services. Internet Marketing includes pay per click advertising, banner ads, e-mail marketing, interactive advertising, search engine marketing (including search engine optimization), blog marketing, and article marketing.

[edit] Definition and Scope

Internet marketing is a component of electronic commerce. Internet marketing can include information management, public relations, customer service, and sales. Electronic commerce and Internet marketing have become popular as Internet access is becoming more widely available and used. Well over one third of consumers who have Internet access in their homes report using the Internet to make purchases. Internet marketing is also useful for companies that wish to expand their "brick-and-mortar" business into an online business.

[edit] History

Internet marketing first began in the early 1990s as simple, text-based websites that offered product information. It then evolved into advertisements complete with graphics. The most recent step in this evolution was the creation of complete online businesses that use the Internet to promote and sell their services and goods.

[edit] Business Models and Formats

Internet marketing is associated with several business models. The main models include business-to-business and business-to-consumer (B2C). B2B consists of companies doing business with each other, whereas B2C involves selling directly to the end consumer (see Malala, 2003)[1] . When Internet marketing first began, the B2C model was first to emerge. B2B transactions were more complex and came about later. A third, less common business model is peer-to-peer (P2P), where individuals exchange goods between themselves. An example of P2P is Kazaa, which is built upon individuals sharing files.

Internet marketing can also be seen in various formats. One version is name-your-price (e.g. Priceline.com). With this format, customers are able to state what price range they wish to spend and then select from items at that price range. With find-the-best-price websites (e.g. Hotwire.com), Internet users can search for the lowest prices on items. A final format is online auctions (e.g. Ebay.com) where buyers bid on listed items.

[edit] Benefits

Some of the benefits associated with Internet marketing include the availability of information. Consumers can log onto the Internet and learn about products, as well as purchase them, at any hour. Companies that use Internet marketing can also save money because of a reduced need for a sales force. Overall, Internet marketing can help expand from a local market to both national and international marketplaces.

[edit] Limitations

Limitations of Internet marketing create problems for both companies and consumers. Slow Internet connections can cause difficulties. If companies build overly large or complicated web pages, Internet users may struggle to download the information. Internet marketing does not allow shoppers to touch, smell, taste or try-on tangible goods before making an online purchase. Some e-commerce vendors have implemented liberal return policies to reassure customers.

[edit] Security Concerns

For both companies and consumers that participate in online business, security concerns are very important. Many consumers are hesitant to buy items over the Internet because they do not trust that their personal information will remain private. Recently, some companies that do business online have been caught giving away or selling information about their customers. Several of these companies have guarantees on their websites, claiming customer information will be private. By selling customer information, these companies are breaking their own, publicized policy. Some companies that buy customer information offer the option for individuals to have their information removed from the database (known as opting out). However, many customers are unaware that their information is being shared and are unable to stop the transfer of their information between companies.

Security concerns are of great importance and online companies have been working hard to create solutions. Encryption is one of the main methods for dealing with privacy and security concerns on the Internet. Encryption is defined as the conversion of data into a form called a cipher. This cipher cannot be easily intercepted unless an individual is authorized by the program or company that completed the encryption. In general, the stronger the cipher, the better protected the data is. However, the stronger the cipher, the more expensive encryption becomes.

[edit] Effects on Industries

Internet marketing has had a large impact on several industries including music, banking, and flea markets. In the music industry, many consumers have begun buying and downloading MP3s over the Internet instead of simply buying CDs. The debate over the legality of downloading MP3s has become a major concern for those in the music industry.
Internet marketing has also affected the banking industry. More and more banks are offering the ability to perform banking tasks online. Online banking is believed to appeal to customers because it is more convenient than visiting bank branches. Currently, over 50 million U.S. adults now bank online. Online banking is now the fastest-growing Internet activity. The increasing speed of Internet connections is the main reason for the fast-growth. Of those individuals who use the Internet, 44% now perform banking activities over the Internet.
As Internet auctions have gained popularity, flea markets are struggling. Unique items that could previously be found at flea markets are being sold on Ebay.com instead. Ebay.com has also affected the prices in the industry. Buyers and sellers often look at prices on the website before going to flea markets and the Ebay.com price often becomes what the item is sold for. More and more flea market sellers are putting their items up for sale online and running their business out of their homes.

[edit] Recent Issues

In November 2004, a lawsuit was filed against Bonzi Buddy software. The lawsuit alleged that Bonzi's banner ads were deceptive. These ads often looked like Microsoft Windows message boxes. Internet users would run across the ads and when they attempted to close the boxes, they found themselves redirected to a website determined by Bonzi.

On May 27, 2005, Bonzi Buddy agreed to change the format of its ads so they did not resemble Windows message boxes. The boxes will now contain the word "Advertisement" so computer users know what they are looking at. The boxes will also no longer carry buttons that do not perform the correct actions.

Sales tax issues have also recently become debated. In the USA, the current laws require that buyers of online products pay their state all due taxes on these goods at the end of the year, along with their other state taxes. However, most consumers do not appear to be making these payments. Thirteen states have now begun encouraging Internet businesses to collect sales tax on every sale. These states are currently not forcing the companies to collect the tax. However, it appears that if companies do not begin collecting the sales tax on their own, states will begin forcing the companies to do so. The states are claiming that each year they lose $15 billion in unpaid sales taxes associated with online purchases.
